Driver seat broken in my first car and tried to charge twice as much for the rental will not be using this place again

I called the local number to rent a car 3 weeks ago and I kept getting rerouted to an outsourced answering service who handled my call. I rented the car online and I was also offered a great deal on auto insurance which I bought. I made at least five calls over the past 3 weeks to not only confirm my rental, but also asked about the credit check that is done during two different phone calls. I was reassured each time I called that the credit check was only to make certain that I had$100 extra in my account as a deposit. I specifically asked if it had anything to do with a credit score and I was reassured that the credit check budget does will not check my credit score, just my bank account. I went to pick up my car 8 in the morning just to be told I failed the credit check and would not be able to rent. When I explained what I was told on customer service calls, the representative at the counter told me he has nothing to do with that. I also asked him for a refund for my insurance and once again he told me it has nothing to do with him. Also, he said it is a $200 hold on the account, not $100. Luckily, my husband was able to rent the car or else the trip would have been canceled and that would not have been a good thing. I do not recommend this company because they are liars and don't know what they're doing.
The staff remembers me and always helpful. I usually reserve & pay in advance so everything is ready. Once in a while it is a last minute need and they always make sure they can get a car for me. Outstanding service.
They have pretty low rates but their service could use work and they do not even go with you to look at the vehicle before you take it. They sent a guy from the back who spoke broken English and he did not even know why he was there. They want you to just sign and go. When I went out there I found a dent on the side door and they said that was just a scratch. I had to make the guy circle the dent option on their own reports to make sure I was not charged. Overall, cheaper you go, the worse the service and more sleezy your experience will be. But, at least you get the car.
