Our experience with this office was that they are very rude and not helpful at all. If we ever need to go to the clerk of court we go directly to the punta gorda office. The people are much nicer and actually try to help.

i went there yesterday to get my passport renewed. The police officer at the door said they only take check or money order. Great. How could I know that, it's nowhere on the web site. Today I went back. After 15 minutes in line, the lady at the counter tells me they only renew passports that have been expired five yrs or more, and no, she did not know why that was. What kind of nonsense is this? I went to the County Clerk website, there is no way to contact the Clerk, he's apparently in hiding. This is supposed to be a service to the public, instead it's a great waste of our money. How about getting someone that knows how to run a public office?
