Me and my family will never ever buy a single item from Sears again and will celebrate the day this horrible company finally goes out of business and can no longer legally deceive and steal from consumers.
Sears has the information on their own site from reviews about faulty carburetor issues. It's widespread. Still they want to charge me $140 to fix a mower I used only 3 times, rather than do the right thing. My warranty exclusions say nothing about carburetor. Its says spark plugs, belts, filters, and blade.
Called automotive to get tires and oil change, and a gentlemen named Timmy, who sounded very frustrated answered the phone. He asked me to hold which was fine but never answered my call. I ended the phone call at 17 mins and 11 seconds and more they won't have my business! I knew with the way he sounded on the phone that there was a good chance i was going to be ignored. Probably why Kmart and Sears and struggling so bad...
I recently tried by buy a washing machine..after my bank card was run through, I was informed that the washing machine would not be available for two weeks..ok.so I thought I could deal with this..the day before i was to pick up my washing machine i received a recorded call that the merchandise would not be available for at least another week..i had to go back to the store after work so my bank card could be re-run to receive a refund..so my refund will not be available in my checking for 7 days..the whole thing is and was a terrible inconvenience..i will NEVER. Purchase another appliance from Sears..i have always used sears for tvs, cameras, washer/dryer, vacuums, refrigerators etc. The store employees were absolutely lovely and accommodating. .
I brought my daughter here today to show her the prices on washers, dryers and refrigerators. Neither of us could believe it. Even if this store is going out of business they won't be able to discount these items low enough for anyone to afford them. The refrigerators were right at $3,000, double door nice units but who can afford 3 grand for a fridge? The ranges were as high as $3600 and averaged over a thousand. The washer and dryer combos were at $1000 each. There were a few cheaper but nothing reasonable. Of course people use CraigsList and Amazon. How can a store like this stay in business. I guess they can't. Hard to watch a tradition disappear because of Chinese products but worse because they refuse to compete.
Keep the mower and give me my money!
Sears sold me a defective Craftsman lawnmower for $360 and they refuse to honor the warranty, and are making up the rules as they go.
I have worked with this company going on almost 2 years. The staff is fantastic and we are more like a family then anything else. I would just like to state that we are NOT going out of business. This store is not on any lists for closures, so when you come in, you won't find any "close out" "going out of business" deals. We try to assist every customer in a timely and efficient matter. We have renovated our tool department, and it looks fabulous. I love my store, I love my job. Great deals/Sales going on not to mention great shop your way rewards program.
