I had a hip replacement performed in May 2017.
Infection control was extremely high on their list. Surgical scrubbing lotions and instruction were given to be used for a few days prior to your procedure. Prevention, prevention, prevention............
Not even going to start. I would go on for an hour. Nurses are fine generally. The doctors were like the 3 stooges. You take your life in your own hands (their hands) how about the hammer, auger bit and hand saw.
Through the E.R I was admitted to 4W IMCU Cardiology . Although they were very busy I was taken in by the most wonderful group nursing care staff i have ever been acquainted with . True to their word they kept me posted as to all that was being plan for me . Very attentive to detail and full of compassion . Special thank you to a Nurse named Hillary . All the way to discharge I was thought of as a person and not just a number. God Bless you all and all that you do. Sincerely Albert Juarez
I recommend Fawcett!
My stay was only overnight, but it was very pleasant. My food was delicious & my nursing care was excellent. Thanks to all of you.
All the care I received throughout my surgery process and the post care in the orthopedic recovery care department was excellent!
Everything from my pre-op visit at the hospital and information session at the Sports Medicine/PT dept., were first class!

This is the place to go for cheap lab work if you are self pay and unwilling to go to Sarasota or LaBelle. The cafeteria food is pretty good (and cheap), and the food service staff are very nice, but it was better when Sodexo ran it (that's not the staff or the chef's fault; it's usually hard for self operators to beat management companies on quality). I couldn't give more than three stars because the ER takes forever to put someone in a room, compared to the other hospitals in the area that have gotten me into a room right away; the staff are nice, but there apparently isn't enough of them or something. Most of the time you see a nurse practitioner instead of a doctor in the ER there, which is why my doctor no longer affiliates with FMH. Also, parking is horrendous, but that is (supposedly) going to be addressed.
